Ditch the "Expert" Act: Embrace Beginner's Mind for a richer life

Beginner’s mind is such a refreshing idea in the West where we want to be experts and have all the answers. Granted, expertise is needed (surgeons and pilots come to mind) but this idea of approaching life as a beginner is a powerful way of being with people and experiencing new things and things we’ve done a million times.

Beginner’s Mind has become part of the vernacular and by providing that, Suzuki Roshi has shifted the consciousness in this country and Western culture. Check out the book, there’s tons of priceless wisdom in this little tomb. It’s one of my favorite books of all time.
