Presence is the Key

As we work through the waves of autumn, with so many in my circles disappointed and scared, I see that, for me, simplicity is the path. A breath, grounding, and coming back to present moment awareness. Simple.

Earlier today I was walking and caught up in thought, caught in the absurdity, caught in the "what if's" of the future and then, I caught myself.

Take a breath, come back to the present, feel the sensations, right here, right now. The sun on my neck and head, the cool breeze blowing on my face and chest, the flapping of my open jacket. There was a welcoming and a celebration. A welcoming of life and a celebration of just this

A reminder that right now, I am safe, right now, I am grateful. Right now, it just is. Dropping the past and the despair I have been feeling about what could have been, and letting go of the future and what might be.

Simply coming back to what actually is.

When we release ourselves from the mind's spinning, projection, knowing and hypothesizing, we allow ourselves to come back to the body (what is), to connect with heart (our wholeness) and perhaps even open to spirit (what's possible).

Our very essence is the act of creating. But that can only be experienced in the present moment. In the ever-unfolding now. So whether you are walking down the street, working, playing with your kids, making love, or in a conversation, I invite you to your life as it is, right here, right now.

It is only through presence that we can find the strength and resilience needed to navigate the uncertainty, and to rediscover our wholeness. And when that happens, possibilities open, we create from our imagination, and love can become our reality. All through presence. Simply, simple, presence.
